Any trip has a beginning and the beginning of this trip won't be July 2nd when we'll fligh to Tashkent. No, it began long ago. Few days before 2004 x-mas. I was at Jordi Rabella house, a good friend. He had invited his friends for a x-mas dinner. Within them Mario Pardo with whom I had done a trip with bicycle through Canary Islands, these day he tried again to enrole me on his new plans.

He kept his target on central asian countries, long before he tried to "catch" me for a trip to Mongolia, this time, while eating x-mas sweets, he wanted to enrole me for a trip to Kyrgyzstan. Well, it was easy to fall in the temptation. Few days later while I was recovering myself from x-mas familiars overcharged meals I started to look for ideas for the project. Soon it came to my mind some talks I had had with Enric when he went back from Kirguizstan . Then he had told me to cycle the Pamir Highway... Few westerners than in the Karakorum Higway (KKH) and could be even more scenic and interesting than it, he told me . Soon, I strarted to browse the net and the few information I found it was fascinating.
It was decided. Next summer I was going to Tajikistan. Those who wanted, could join me. So I emailed to some friend of mine: Jordi, Mario, Anna Coll and Enric; maybe too much people, but friends are friends. Mario & Enric soon joined. Unfortunately we couldn't mach dates, while Mario needed had vacations on August, Enric should did it in July,as for that time he was planning to join an Expedition to Lenin Peak (7.134m) with his mountaineering club at the end of our trip.

Between end of January and mid February we realized that me and Enric were going to be the ones on the project to cross the Pamirs cycling. So we estarted to plan it.
With the only existing turistic map of the Tajik Pamirs in one hand, a Central Asian road map in the other, a pencil and a piece of paper we started to plan the route and to count kilometers one evening in Mollet, while I eated good meat and Enric had no chance other than eat some pap after having visited his dentist. I would say I enjoyed the dinner much more than he :-). The travel had began. Five month has already passed and we are ready for departing, the first phase of the travel, the planning, is done. A second phase starts now, the trip itself. Ahead four weeks cycling in some of the most unknown asian regions.
